Artieta, Ramsey, and Zheng Lead Their Divisions at 2024 Louisiana Junior Golf Tour Championship

A look into the first round of the 2024 LJGT Tour Championship held at Ellendale Country Club in Houma, Louisiana on Saturday, October 5, 2024.

60 players competed in the first round of the 2024 LJGT Tour Championship held at Ellendale Country Club. Tee times began this morning at 7:30 AM off the 1st tee. The course played to a par 72 at 6,644 yards for the Overall Boys Division and approximately 5,734 yards for the Overall Girls and Boys 11-13 Division.

Houma, LAEvelynn Artieta leads the Overall Girls’ division at the 2024 Louisiana Junior Golf Tour Championship with an impressive four-under-par 68 heading into tomorrow’s final round. Artieta delivered a standout performance, recording six birdies and two bogeys in today’s round. Trailing in second place is Maci Williams of Brusly at one-over par, followed by Jade Neves of New Orleans in third at five-over par.

In the Boys’ 11-13 division, Grey Ramsey of Choudrant is in the lead with a two-under-par 70. Ramsey had a strong round, making three birdies and a single bogey. Close on his heels are Eli Knighton of Shreveport and Owen Lejeune of Baton Rouge, both at one-under-par 71. Tied for fourth at even par are Augustin Gros of Metairie and Landon Lotz of Slidell.

Kevin Zheng of Baton Rouge leads the Overall Boys’ division with a two-under-par 70. Zheng had an eventful round, recording four birdies and two bogeys. Just one shot behind is Ben Blanco of Broussard at one-under par, while Elliot Aucoin of Baton Rouge and Will Porter of Monroe currently sit in third place at even par.
