The opening round of the 43rd Louisiana Four-Ball Championship concluded Saturday at Pelican Point Country Club, with a pair of former champions on top a tightly contested leaderboard heading into Sunday's final round.

Players teed off in two waves at 7:30 a.m. and 12:00 p.m.

Leading the championship at 9-under-par are Greg Berthelot and Kyle Williams, champions of the event in 2020 and 2011, respectively. The duo is in position to make championship history by becoming the first team to capture the Louisiana Four-Ball title three times.

Berthelot provided one of the day's biggest highlights with an eagle on the second hole, while he and Williams combined for seven birdies during an outstanding opening-round performance.

Just one shot back at 8-under-par are Clayton Brown and Seth Holley, who battled alongside the leaders throughout the day in a back-and-forth race. Brown and Holley finished their round with an impressive nine birdies, keeping the pressure on as the championship heads into its final round.

The final round begins Sunday morning with tee times starting at 7:30 AM and The 43rd Louisiana Four-Ball champions will be crowned at Pelican Point Country Club.
