Everything to Know: Round One of 104th Louisiana State Amateur Championship

Round one of the Louisiana Golf Association’s 104th Louisiana Amateur Championship held at Southern Trace Country Club in Shreveport, Louisiana will take place on Thursday, July 20, 2023.

144 players will compete in round one of the 104th Louisiana State Amateur.  Morning tee times will begin at 7:30 AM off the 1st and 10th tee.  The field will be cut to the lowest 60 scorers and ties for play on Saturday, July 22, and Sunday, July 23.

1. In the event of a tie for the Championship there will be a sudden death playoff beginning on a hole as determined by the Committee and continuing in order until a Champion is determined.
2. Competitors must be neat in appearance and wear appropriate attire. No gym shorts, cutoffs, blue jeans, tee shirts, etc.
3. Caddies are permissible during the Championship. However, both the competitor and his caddie may not ride in a cart at the same time, i.e., one of the two must walk if the other is being transported in a cart. 
4. Spectator carts will not be available during the Championship.
5. Play will be governed by the Rules of Golf and the LGA Rules of Play Card.
6. Prizes: Gift Certificates will be awarded to the top twenty (20) finishers in the Championship.  The Amateur Champion will also receive a Crystal Trophy signifying the 104th Amateur Championship.

This championship is conducted by the Louisiana Golf Association.
