Exciting First Round Action at the 2025 Louisiana Women’s Mid and Senior Amateur Championships

A look into the first round of the 2025 Louisiana Women’s Mid and Senior Amateur Championships at Farm D'Allie Golf Club in Carencro, Louisiana on Saturday, April 5, 2025.

15 players competed in the first round of the Louisiana Golf Association’s 2025 Louisiana Women’s Mid and Senior Amateur Championships.  This morning’s tee times begin at 7:30 AM off the first tee. The course played to a par 72 at approximately 5,197 yards.

Carencro, Louisiana – The 2025 Louisiana Women’s Mid-Amateur and Senior Amateur Championships teed off with a strong start on a beautiful spring day at Farm D’Allie Golf Club. Kay Daniel of Covington leads both the Mid-Amateur and Senior Amateur divisions after a solid opening round.

In the Mid-Amateur Championship, Daniel carded an even-par 72 to grab the solo lead heading into Sunday’s final round. Daniel’s consistent ball striking and steady putting set the tone early, as she stayed poised throughout the round. Kay Daniel of Covington has an impressive history in the Louisiana Women's Mid-Amateur Championship, having secured the title 12 times over the years. Notably, she clinched her fifth consecutive victory in 2019. In the 2024 championship, Daniel finished as the runner-up after a playoff against Nicole Crochet of Baton Rouge. With her consistent performance, Daniel is now aiming to add another championship to her distinguished record.

Hot on her heels is defending champion Nicole Crochet of Baton Rouge, who sits just one stroke back at +1 after posting a 73. Kie McNabb of DeRidder rounds out the top three at +4 (76), positioning herself within striking distance.

Daniel’s impressive performance also puts her atop the Senior Amateur Championship leaderboard. She holds a four-shot lead over Kie McNabb, who sits at +4. Baton Rouge’s Julie Harrison and Shannon Hudson of Vinton are tied for third at +5 after matching 77s in the first round.

In the Flighted Senior Amateur Championship (Net Division), Nancy Conravey of Abita Springs leads the field after firing a net 67 (-5). Annette Samec of Sunset follows in solo second with a net 69 (-3). Rounding out the top spots are April Prestenbach of Baton Rouge and Tina Chin-Griffin of Port Allen, who are tied for third at +1 (73).

As the championships continue, spectators can expect a competitive finish as Louisiana’s top female amateurs battle for coveted titles at one of Acadiana’s premier venues.
