New Orleans, LA — Eric Hoffmann of Denham Springs and Landon Lyons of Baton Rouge combined for rounds of 61 and 66 to finish at 17-under-par 127, winning the 42nd Louisiana Four-Ball Championship by one stroke at English Turn Golf and Country Club.

The pair opened with an 11-under 61 on Saturday and followed it up with a steady 6-under 66 on Sunday to hold off a competitive field. Hoffmann and Lyons played consistent golf across both rounds, avoiding bogeys and capitalizing on scoring opportunities without needing to press. Their final round included eleven birdies, many of which came at key moments, and zero bogeys to maintain just enough separation from the rest of the pack.

Finishing one shot back at 16-under 128 were Brandt Garon of Zachary and Stanley Watts Jr., who posted a 60 on Saturday and a 68 on Sunday. Their front nine on Sunday featured back-to-back birdies at the sixth and seventh, but they were unable to close the margin on the back despite solid play.

Myles Lewis of Metairie and Price Butcher of New Orleans finished in solo third at 15-under 129 after posting a final-round 62, the lowest score of the day. Their front nine featured an early birdie and an eagle to jumpstart the round, and they carried that momentum into the turn with more birdies before adding several on the back to close out a clean, well-paced performance. The strong finish moved them up the leaderboard and into serious contention by the end of play.

Just behind them were Kyle Traub and Niel Phillips of Metairie and New Orleans, who finished at 14-under 130 after rounds of 67 and 63. Rounding out the top five were Josh Fullilove of Larose and Grant Haney of Metairie, who closed with a 63 of their own to finish at 13-under 131.

In the First Flight, Jonathan Jeter and Todd McPherson of New Orleans, both members of the LGA Board of Directors, captured the title in a scorecard playoff after tying at 9-under 135 with Justin and Blake Caldwell of Lafayette. Jeter and McPherson followed a 71 in the opening round with a 64 on Sunday to earn the edge based on their final-nine tiebreaker. Their second round was highlighted by strong play on both sides and a composed finish under pressure.

English Turn played fair but demanding, requiring both creativity and control, particularly on and around the greens. The four-ball format again provided a showcase for some of the best amateur golf in Louisiana, with strong chemistry, shot-making, and pace of play on display throughout the weekend.

The Louisiana Golf Association congratulates Eric Hoffmann and Landon Lyons on their victory and thanks all players who competed in this year’s championship. Special thanks to English Turn Golf and Country Club and its staff for hosting the event and providing outstanding conditions and hospitality over both days of play.
