The putt just slipped by the hole, giving Calloway his first Championship.  The LGA Senior Amateur pits the top Louisiana Seniors ((50+ years of age) for the most coveted Senior Amateur Championship in the state and is conducted over 54 holes of stroke play competition.    Rounding out the Top Five on Saturday were: 3. Dornier (75/222), and Tied for 4th, first round leader Eric Lavespere of Monroe (76/224), Lafayette’s Bill Land (74/224), and Covington’s Tommy Brennan (76/224).   As mentioned, this year’s Championship was conducted at the Oakbourne Country Club course in Lafayette, a Dick Wilson-design that continued to draw compliments from this field of the top Senior players in Louisiana.  The par-72 track played at just over 6,600 yards for the final round of this Championship, which was played under gorgeous weather conditions with swirling breezes. The course, which opened in 1955 and is considered one of the best tracks in Louisiana provided a great venue for the Championship.   The 2022 LGA Senior Amateur will be conducted at Bayou DeSiard Country Club in Monroe, May 5-7, 2022.   [Click here](https://www.golfgenius.com/pages/2762739) to view final results. --- #### Tag: [News Archives](https://blog.lgagolf.org/tag/news-archives) #### Share: - [Follow us on Facebook](http://www.facebook.com/share.php?u=https://blog.lgagolf.org/jeff-calloway-captures-louisiana-golf-association-senior-amateur-championship) - [Follow us on Twitter](https://twitter.com/intent/tweet?url=https://blog.lgagolf.org/jeff-calloway-captures-louisiana-golf-association-senior-amateur-championship&text=JEFF%20CALLOWAY%20CAPTURES%20LOUISIANA%20GOLF%20ASSOCIATION%20SENIOR%20AMATEUR%20CHAMPIONSHIP) - [Follow us on Linkedin](http://www.linkedin.com/shareArticle?mini=true&url=https://blog.lgagolf.org/jeff-calloway-captures-louisiana-golf-association-senior-amateur-championship) - [Follow us on Pinterest](http://pinterest.com/pin/create/button/?url=https://blog.lgagolf.org/jeff-calloway-captures-louisiana-golf-association-senior-amateur-championship&text=JEFF%20CALLOWAY%20CAPTURES%20LOUISIANA%20GOLF%20ASSOCIATION%20SENIOR%20AMATEUR%20CHAMPIONSHIPdescription=&media=) --- #### [Two-Time Champion Rod Baronet Leads After 36 Holes at 32nd Louisiana Senior Amateur Championship; Lafayette’s Robert Shelton Wins Super Senior Division Previous Post](https://blog.lgagolf.org/two-time-champion-rod-baronet-leads-after-36-holes-at-32nd-louisiana-senior-amateur-championship-lafayettes-robert-shelton-wins-super) #### [WALKER CUP MAGIC AND THE MYSTIQUE OF SEMINOLE GOLF CLUB Next Post](https://blog.lgagolf.org/walker-cup-magic-and-the-mystique-of-seminole-golf-club) ### Leave a Reply --- ## Related Posts [News Archives](https://blog.lgagolf.org/tag/news-archives) [Admin](https://blog.lgagolf.org/author/admin) 08 June, 2024 #### [Berthelot Takes Lead Going Into Final Round of 105th Louisiana Amateur Championship](https://blog.lgagolf.org/berthelot-takes-lead-going-into-final-round-of-105th-louisiana-amateur-championship) June 8, 2024 | Maili Bartz [Read More](https://blog.lgagolf.org/berthelot-takes-lead-going-into-final-round-of-105th-louisiana-amateur-championship) [News Archives](https://blog.lgagolf.org/tag/news-archives) [Admin](https://blog.lgagolf.org/author/admin) 07 June, 2024 #### [Ferrer Takes Commanding Lead Amidst Cut at 105th Louisiana Amateur Championship](https://blog.lgagolf.org/ferrer-takes-commanding-lead-amidst-cut-at-105th-louisiana-amateur-championship) June 7, 2024 | Maili Bartz [Read More](https://blog.lgagolf.org/ferrer-takes-commanding-lead-amidst-cut-at-105th-louisiana-amateur-championship) [News Archives](https://blog.lgagolf.org/tag/news-archives) [Admin](https://blog.lgagolf.org/author/admin) 06 June, 2024 #### [Exciting Four-Way Tie for the Lead After Round One of the 105th Louisiana Amateur Championship](https://blog.lgagolf.org/exciting-four-way-tie-for-the-lead-after-round-one-of-the-105th-louisiana-amateur-championship) June 6, 2024 | Maili Bartz [Read More](https://blog.lgagolf.org/exciting-four-way-tie-for-the-lead-after-round-one-of-the-105th-louisiana-amateur-championship) Louisiana Golf Association The LGA’s mission is to foster the enhancement and expansion of amateur golf through the development of member and information services, the promotion of opportunities for all who want to play, and the protection of the game’s integrity and valued traditions.  The LGA is licensed by the United States Golf Association as the “Allied Golf Association” of record for the state of Louisiana.
