John Humphries of Woodworth held a three-shot lead over Nicholas Arcement of Thibodaux and a four-shot lead over Gage Primeaux of Lake Charles when the third round commenced. Humphries did not have his “A-game” on Saturday, but he grinded out a two-over par 74. Humphries is currently seven-under par for the Championship and leads Primeaux by two strokes and Arcement by four strokes with 18 holes left to play. Humphries, Primeaux, and Arcement will once again be paired together in final group of the day in what is sure to be an action packed final round on Sunday. Only two other competitors are in red figures through 54 holes. Brandt Garon of Jackson and Carter Toms of Shreveport each carded an even-par 72 on Saturday and are one-under par for the Championship. The low round of the day went to Ryan Alford who fired a four-under par 68. Alford is currently tied for sixth at even par 216 with Dante Caldera of Greenwell Springs and Jonathan Bale of Baton Rouge. Baton Rouge Country Club, which was founded in 1916, is hosting the Louisiana Amateur Championship for the sixth time in its history, having also been host venue for this Championship in 1923, 1942, 1949, 1953, 1968. The golf course drew rave reviews from this field of the top amateur players in Louisiana. The tree lined shot makers course played firm and fast on Saturday to a par of 72 at approximately 6,994 yards. Baton Rouge County Club is in perfect condition for this prestigious championship.   Sunday’s starting times will begin at 7:30 a.m. off #1 tee, with the leaders going off last at 10:30 a.m. [Click here](https://www.golfgenius.com/pages/1802166)for complete results. [Click here](https://www.golfgenius.com/pages/1802164)to view final round pairings.    --- #### Tag: [News Archives](https://blog.lgagolf.org/tag/news-archives) [LGA Championships](https://blog.lgagolf.org/tag/lga-championships) #### Share: - [Follow us on Facebook](http://www.facebook.com/share.php?u=https://blog.lgagolf.org/john-humphries-leads-100th-louisiana-amateur-championship-following-third-round-play) - [Follow us on Twitter](https://twitter.com/intent/tweet?url=https://blog.lgagolf.org/john-humphries-leads-100th-louisiana-amateur-championship-following-third-round-play&text=John%20Humphries%20Leads%20100th%20Louisiana%20Amateur%20Championship%20Following%20Third%20Round%20Play) - [Follow us on Linkedin](http://www.linkedin.com/shareArticle?mini=true&url=https://blog.lgagolf.org/john-humphries-leads-100th-louisiana-amateur-championship-following-third-round-play) - [Follow us on Pinterest](http://pinterest.com/pin/create/button/?url=https://blog.lgagolf.org/john-humphries-leads-100th-louisiana-amateur-championship-following-third-round-play&text=John%20Humphries%20Leads%20100th%20Louisiana%20Amateur%20Championship%20Following%20Third%20Round%20Playdescription=Baton%20Rouge,%20Louisiana%20–%20July%2019,%202019&media=) --- #### [John Humphries Leads 100th Louisiana Amateur Championship Through 36 Holes Previous Post](https://blog.lgagolf.org/john-humphries-leads-100th-louisiana-amateur-championship-through-36-holes) #### [John Humphries Wins 100th Louisiana Amateur Championship Next Post](https://blog.lgagolf.org/john-humphries-wins-100th-louisiana-amateur-championship) ### Leave a Reply --- ## Related Posts [LGA Championships](https://blog.lgagolf.org/tag/lga-championships) [Admin](https://blog.lgagolf.org/author/admin) 20 June, 2026 #### [Evelynn Artieta Wins 98th Louisiana Women's Amateur Championship](https://blog.lgagolf.org/evelynn-artieta-wins-98th-louisiana-womens-amateur-championship) Evelynn Artieta Wins 98th Louisiana Amateur Championship [Read More](https://blog.lgagolf.org/evelynn-artieta-wins-98th-louisiana-womens-amateur-championship) [LGA Championships](https://blog.lgagolf.org/tag/lga-championships) [Maili Bartz](https://blog.lgagolf.org/author/maili-bartz) 06 September, 2025 #### [Williams and Artieta Lead First Round of 24th Louisiana Women’s Four-Ball Championship](https://blog.lgagolf.org/williams-and-artieta-lead-first-round-of-24th-louisiana-womens-four-ball-championship) A look into the first round of the 24th Louisiana Women’s Four-Ball Championship held at The Island… [Read More](https://blog.lgagolf.org/williams-and-artieta-lead-first-round-of-24th-louisiana-womens-four-ball-championship) [LGA Championships](https://blog.lgagolf.org/tag/lga-championships), [News](https://blog.lgagolf.org/tag/news) [Laura D'Amico](https://blog.lgagolf.org/author/lau) 11 August, 2025 #### [Tyler Ledet Fires 68 to Claim Medalist Honors at U.S. Mid-Amateur Local Qualifier at Bayou DeSiard](https://blog.lgagolf.org/tyler-ledet-fires-68-to-claim-medalist-honors-at-u.s.-mid-amateur-local-qualifier-at-bayou-desiard) Monroe, LA – Tyler Ledet of Lafayette, Louisiana, carded a 4-under-par 68 on Monday at Bayou… [Read More](https://blog.lgagolf.org/tyler-ledet-fires-68-to-claim-medalist-honors-at-u.s.-mid-amateur-local-qualifier-at-bayou-desiard) Louisiana Golf Association The LGA’s mission is to foster the enhancement and expansion of amateur golf through the development of member and information services, the promotion of opportunities for all who want to play, and the protection of the game’s integrity and valued traditions.  The LGA is licensed by the United States Golf Association as the “Allied Golf Association” of record for the state of Louisiana.
