Join the Leaderboard: GHIN Challenges Are Now Live at Select Louisiana Courses

Lafayette, LA — The Louisiana Golf Association (LGA) is excited to announce the launch of GHIN Challenges, a brand-new, free feature available through the GHIN mobile app that allows golfers to compete virtually using their Handicap Index®.

GHIN Challenges give golfers an easy, fun way to engage in friendly competition at participating courses throughout the state—without the need to register for a tournament or play at a specific time. Once a golfer joins a Challenge in the GHIN app or GHIN.Com, they simply play and post scores as usual. Their net scores are automatically applied to the Challenge leaderboard, with rankings determined by each player’s best three net rounds during the Challenge period.

Participation is completely free for all golfers with an active Handicap Index® through the LGA.

**All Challenges are live now and will remain open through October 31, 2025.**

How It Works

    1. Update or download the GHIN app (available for iOS and Android).
    2. Join a Challenge at one of the participating courses.
    3. Play at least three 18-hole rounds during the Challenge window and post your scores.
    4. Your best three net scores will determine your standing on the leaderboard.

Once three rounds are posted, a player’s name automatically appears on the leaderboard. Golfers who have played a course within the last 60 days will also receive a notification when that facility’s Challenge begins, encouraging more engagement from recent players.

Why Participate

  • Free to enter with an active Handicap Index®.
  • No extra registration or scoring steps—just play and post.
  • Fair competition through net scoring.
  • Play at your own pace during the Challenge window.
  • Automatic leaderboard updates in the GHIN app and GHIN.Com.

Challenges are designed to bring golfers together in a casual, inclusive way—perfect for players who enjoy friendly competition and tracking progress without the formality of an event.
