Julie Harrison of Baton Rouge seeks her fifth straight and eighth overall Women’s Senior Amateur Championship after an opening round of three-over par 75 at Southern Trace Country Club. Harrison made five birdies during her round in difficult playing conditions. Last year’s runner-up, Mary Lynn Stuart of Shreveport finished round one in second place with a nine-over par 81. Carla Thompson of Woodworth rounds out the top three heading into the final round. Julia McKey of Slaughter leads the Grand Super Senior Division (70+) by ten strokes over Moise Allen of Shreveport.
Southern Trace Country Club is in excellent condition and played to a par 72 at 5,217 yards.
