Lafayette, LA – The Louisiana Golf Association (LGA) is proud to feature Lafayette resident Dustan Louque in its ongoing “Share Your LGA Story” campaign, which highlights the diverse journeys and personal milestones of members across the state.

Dustan’s story is one of transformation, perseverance, and passion. A former college football player, Dustan left the sport to pursue the Professional Golf Management program at Mississippi State University. Though his handicap at the time may not have been quite up to par, the experience sparked a lifelong connection to the game.

“I discovered a talent for music and ended up taking a different path,” said Louque, who spent years in New York City before returning to Louisiana. “When I moved to Lafayette, I began to play again and joined the LGA. I’ve met many folks through golf who now come to my concerts — it’s been a great full-circle moment.”

Louque has since worked his way down to an 8.5 handicap and has his sights set on playing in the Louisiana State Amateur Championship — both as a senior and alongside the next generation of players. “I want to feel the pressure of it,” he added with a smile. “For now, I’ll just attend to watch or find a young player to caddie for. Much love!”

The LGA is proud to have members like Dustan who embody the community spirit and passion for the game that define Louisiana golf.
