LAFAYETTE, La. – Marquis Dangerfield, a native of Alexandria, Louisiana, with roots in Lafayette, is building a career in the sports industry with a focus on athletics administration, marketing, and event operations. Growing up in a sports-driven environment, Dangerfield developed an early interest in athletics and participated in football, powerlifting, baseball, and bowling.
Dangerfield is currently earning his degree in Sport Management with a minor in business and marketing at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. During his time at the university, he has gained a strong foundation in sport operations, event planning, marketing strategy, and organizational leadership. He has been actively involved in several campus organizations, including Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc., the L.E.A.D. Association, S.A.W., the It’s On Us Title IX Task Force, and the National Pan-Hellenic Council Executive Board.
Professionally, Dangerfield has gained hands-on experience through roles in both collegiate and professional sports. He previously served as a Marketing Assistant for Ragin’ Cajuns Athletics, assisting with game-day operations, promotions, fan engagement initiatives, and special events across multiple sports. He has also worked in game operations and guest services with the New Orleans Saints and Super Bowl LIX, supporting large-scale NFL events and contributing to the overall fan experience.
In addition to his professional roles, Dangerfield has held leadership positions within student organizations, further strengthening his skills in communication, coordination, and teamwork.
These combined academic, professional, and leadership experiences have reinforced Dangerfield’s interest in sport operations and event management. He looks forward to continuing to develop his skills while contributing to organizations such as the Louisiana Golf Association.
