Lafayette, LA - The Louisiana Golf Association is pleased to award its 2025 Player of the Year to Lawrence Allan of Baton Rouge, 2025 Women’s Player of the Year to Shannon Hudson of Vinton, 2025 Senior Player of the Year to Robby McWilliams of Benton, and 2025 Senior Women’s Player of the Year to Julie Harrison of Baton Rouge.
Allan, the head golf coach for Southeastern Louisiana University, claimed his first Louisiana Golf Association Player of the Year title, finishing 25 points ahead of Connor Cassano. Allan finished tied for third at the 106th Louisiana Amateur Championship at Bayou Oaks at City Park with rounds of 70-69-64-67 (−18) and finished runner-up at the 33rd Louisiana Mid-Amateur Championship, falling to John Humphries of Woodworth in a playoff.
Shannon Hudson of Vinton has claimed her first Women's Player of the Year title by 5 points over Nicole Crochet of Baton Rouge. Hudson finished runner-up behind Kay Daniel of Covington at the 2025 Women's Mid-Amateur Championship at Farm D’Allie Golf Club with rounds of 77 and 73. Hudson the 2 seed was beat out by Abigail McWilliams the 3 seed and finished as a semifinalist in the 97th Louisiana Women's Amateur Championship. Hudson and her partner Christina Popp of Lafayette finished 4th in the 24th Louisiana Women's Four-Ball Championship with rounds of 71 and 70 (-4).
Robby McWilliams of Benton claimed his 5th Senior Player of the Year title (2019, 2020, 2021, 2024) 19 points ahead of Todd Doss of Mandeville. McWilliams finished third at the 35th Louisiana Senior Amateur Championship at Koasati Pines Golf Club with rounds of 73-67-73 (-3). McWilliams finished T45 at the 106th Louisiana Amateur Championship at Bayou Oaks at City Park with a score of -2. McWilliams and his partner Rod Baronet of Lecompte finished runner-up at the 38th Louisiana Senior Four-Ball Championship at Links on the Bayou with rounds of 64 and 65. McWilliams also advanced through U.S. Senior Open Local Qualifying to earn a spot in Sectional Qualifying.
Julie Harrison of Baton Rouge has captured her 5th Senior Women's Player of the Year title (2019, 2020, 2022, 2023) beating out Shannon Hudson of Vinton by 110 points. Harrison and he partner Kie McNabb of DeRidder finished runner-up at the 24th Louisiana Women’s Four-Ball Championship at The Island Golf Course with a score of -16 and placed fourth at the Louisiana Women’s Senior Amateur Championship at Farm D’Allie Golf Club with a score of +12. Harrison also advanced to the quarterfinals of the 97th Louisiana Women’s Amateur Championship getting beat out by Abigail McWilliams of Benton. Harrison qualified for both the U.S. Senior Women’s Open and U.S. Senior Women’s Amateur Championships.
