Louisiana Golf Association Releases 2025 Championship Schedule

Lafayette, Louisiana – The Louisiana Golf Association (LGA) is pleased to announce its 2025 championship schedule. The LGA will once again conduct twelve Championships, in addition to eight Louisiana Amateur Championship Qualifiers. The LGA is an Allied Golf Association of the USGA, and as such, the governing body for amateur golf in Louisiana will conduct seven qualifiers on behalf of the USGA in 2025. “LGA championships are a  showcase of the best that amateur golf can be in our state. We are excited to continue to elevate the player experience at our championships, and provide value added benefits to our membership and member clubs,” said LGA Executive Director Logan Ray. “We have something for all golfers of all abilities, and it is a fantastic lineup of venues next year. 2025 will truly be another amazing and memorable year for amateur golfers in Louisiana.”

The 2025 LGA championship calendar is highlighted by the 106^th Louisiana Amateur Championship, to be conducted at Bayou Oaks at City Park South Course in New Orleans. Registration for the Amateur Championship will open February 1, with an entry deadline of Tuesday, May 6 at 5:00 PM. The Louisiana Amateur Championship will continue to be conducted in the early part of June to ensure that the Champion will receive an exemption into the 2025 U.S. Amateur Championship. This exemption is part of the new qualifying structure for the U.S. Amateur Championship. The golf course will play to a par 72 at approximately 7,100 yards for the 106^th Louisiana Amateur Championship, a stern but fair test. Bayou Oaks at City Park has always been a tremendous supporter of amateur golf and has hosted numerous LGA Championships. This will be the second time in its history to host the Louisiana Amateur Championship (2020). The LGA is excited to return to Bayou Oaks at City Park South Course after a unique and challenging Amateur Championship in 2020 due to Covid-19.  

The LGA will take the 97^th Louisiana Women’s Amateur Championship to OakWing Golf Club on June 20-22. This will be the 3^rd time this Championship has been conducted at OakWing Golf Club (2005 and 2014). Kay Daniel of Covington defeated Julie Harrison of Baton Rouge 3&2 in 2005. In 2014 Kay Daniel would fall 2&1 to Elise Bradley of Mandeville. The LGA is looking forward to hosting the best amateur women golfers at OakWing for another installment of the prestigious Championship. The LGA is very appreciative of the support from OakWing Golf Club.  

Some other takeaways from the schedule release are:

• The LGA is excited to take the 42^nd Louisiana Four-Ball Championship to English Turn Golf & Country Club on July 19-20. 96 teams will be tested at this fantastic club.
• The 68^th Louisiana Junior Amateur and the 60^th Louisiana Girls’ Junior Amateur Championships will be conducted at Southern Trace Country Club on July 9-11. Southern Trace continues to show its support of amateur golf in Louisiana. Shreveport has been a hotbed of junior golf talent for many years and we look forward to showcasing that talent at one of the states premier clubs. 
• The 33^rd Louisiana Mid-Amateur Championship will be conducted at Bayou DeSiard Country Club on August 8-10. This will be the second time that Bayou DeSiard has hosted this Championship (2005). There will be no local qualifying for the Mid-Amateur in 2025. Registration for the Championship will be first come first serve. Exempt players will have priority registration before open registration. Exempt players will be able to register beginning on April 1. Open registration will begin on May 1. A spot in the Championship will not be held for an exempt player if he does not sign up before May 1.
• The Net Amateur Championship will be conducted at Farm d’Allie Golf Club for the first time on August 23-24.
• The Senior Amateur Championship will be played at Koasati Pines in Kinder on May 1-3. Koasati Pines has been a huge supporter of the LGA throughout the years and this will be the second time they have hosted the Senior Amateur Championship (2020). 
• The final two LGA Championships will be the Women’s Four-Ball Championship at The Island in Plaquemine on September 13-14 and the Senior Four-Ball at Links on the Bayou in Alexandria on September 26-27. 
• The LGA is excited to announce there will not be an increase in entry fee prices for 2024. We strive to provide golfers with a great competitive experience at an affordable price compared to similar events.
