Lafayette, LA - The Louisiana Golf Association (LGA) is pleased to announce its 2026 championship schedule. The LGA will once again conduct twelve Championships, in addition to eight Louisiana Amateur Championship Qualifiers. The LGA is an Allied Golf Association of the USGA, and as such, the governing body for amateur golf in Louisiana will conduct seven qualifiers on behalf of the USGA in 2026. “We are excited about our 2026 schedule and the quality venues we can provide our members with an opportunity to play,” said LGA Executive Director Logan Ray. “The schedule showcases premier LGA member clubs across the state that give back to the game by hosting our Championships, and we sincerely appreciate their support. The LGA is proud to provide first-class competitions for all golfers, and we look forward to welcoming everyone next season.” 2026 will be an amazing and memorable year for amateur golfers in Louisiana.
The 2026 LGA championship calendar is highlighted by the 107th Louisiana Amateur Championship, to be conducted at Metairie Country Club in New Orleans. Registration for the Amateur Championship will open February 1, with an entry deadline of Tuesday, May 5 at 5:00 PM. The Louisiana Amateur Championship will continue to be conducted in the early part of June to ensure that the Champion will receive an exemption into the 2026 U.S. Amateur Championship. This exemption is part of the new qualifying structure for the U.S. Amateur Championship. The golf course will play to a par 70 at approximately 6,800 yards for the 107th Louisiana Amateur Championship, a shorter but challenging test. This will be the first time hosting this Championship since 1940 and the 5th time overall. The golf course was restored to its original Seth Raynor design in 2022 and has received national praise since reopening. Louisiana’s best golfers will be tested at a course that is unlike any other in Louisiana.
The LGA will take the 98th Louisiana Women’s Amateur Championship to Beaver Creek Golf Course in Zachary on June 18-20. This will be the 1st time this Championship has been conducted at Beaver Creek Golf Course. The LGA is looking forward to hosting the best amateur women golfers at Beaver Creek for another installment of the prestigious Championship. The LGA is very appreciative of the support from Beaver Creek, as they have hosted numerous LGA Championships in recent years.
