Lafayette, Louisiana – The Louisiana Golf Association is proud to welcome Lily Hughes to the association as the newest USGA P.J. Boatwright Intern for the 2026 season.

Originally from Denver, Colorado, Hughes recently graduated from the University of Alabama with a Bachelor of Science in Sport Management. During her time at Alabama, she served as a Marketing and Fan Experience Intern within the athletic department, gaining valuable experience in event operations, fan engagement, and sports marketing.

Hughes grew up playing soccer competitively from the age of six through college, an experience she says helped shape her passion for teamwork, leadership, and athletics. Her introduction to the golf industry began at the University of Denver Golf Club, where she worked beverage cart operations before eventually helping coordinate tournaments and events.

“We are thrilled to welcome Lily to the LGA this season,” said LGA Executive Director Logan Ray. “Our media team has elevated our brand and communications, and we know that Lily will be an asset to us. She has the skills and the intangibles that will serve her well in this role, and we expect her to make a positive impact.”

“I’m so excited to be joining the LGA team and everything that is to come,” said Hughes.

As a Boatwright Intern, Hughes will assist with the LGA’s marketing and communications efforts along with other association initiatives throughout the season.

The USGA Boatwright Internship Program is designed to give young professionals the opportunity to gain experience in golf administration and championship operations while working alongside Allied Golf Associations across the country.
