16 players competed in the firstl round of the Louisiana Golf Association’s 97th Louisiana Women’s Amateur Championships. This morning’s tee times begin at 7:30 AM off the first tee. The course played to a par 72 at approximately 6,008 yards.

Alexandria, LA - Jade Neves of New Orleans and Shannon Hudson of Vinton both fired rounds of 2-over par 74 this morning at OakWing Golf Club to earn co-medalist honors in stroke play qualifying for the 97th Louisiana Women’s Amateur Championship.
Playing from the LGA Black tees, Neves and Hudson navigated the 6,008-yard layout with poise, besting a strong field to secure the top seeds heading into match play. Neves carded a front nine 39 before settling into a steady back nine 35, highlighted by back-to-back birdies on the par-3 17th and par-4 18th to finish up her round. Hudson posted 37 on both sides, including birdies on 3, 9, 11, and 17.
Abigail McWilliams of Benton finished solo third with a 4-over 76, while three players—Vivian Volion (Springfield), Nicole Crochet (Baton Rouge), and Julie Harrison (Baton Rouge)—tied for fourth at 77.
With the top eight advancing to match play, the championship bracket is now set. The next stage of competition promises to deliver exciting head-to-head battles as Louisiana’s best female amateur golfers vie for the coveted title.
