This scholarship is awarded to outstanding female golfers who demonstrate exceptional academic achievements, leadership skills, and a commitment to community service. Peyton’s journey in golf and academics has been nothing short of remarkable. Her passion for golf began in her younger years, driven by her mother’s encouragement. Despite initial challenges and setbacks, including a significant wrist injury during her senior year, Peyton’s determination led her to numerous successes on and off the golf course. She captained her high school golf team to victory at the LHSAA State Championship, where she also secured an individual bronze medal. ![](https://blog.lgagolf.org/hs-fs/hubfs/Imported_Blog_Media/2-1-1024x1024.png?width=1024&height=1024&name=2-1-1024x1024.png) Academically, Peyton has excelled with a stellar GPA of 4.50 and an ACT score of 32. Her academic honors include being named Summa Cum Laude, Co-Valedictorian, and a member of the LHSAA All-Academic Golf and Swim Teams. She is also an active member of the National Beta Club, National Honor Society, and National Society of High School Scholars. Beyond her academic and athletic pursuits, Peyton has demonstrated a deep commitment to community service. She has volunteered with the BREC Adaptive Golf program, the Kelly Gibson Junior Golf Tour Mentorship Program, and the PGA Jr Golf program, where she has helped teach and mentor young and disabled golfers. Her leadership roles include serving as the President of her school’s Beta Club, where she coordinated a Christmas outreach program for elderly residents in Ascension Parish. Peyton’s dedication to her sport, her studies, and her community has earned her a place at Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas, where she will continue her academic journey majoring in psychology, with aspirations of earning a Ph.D. She will also compete on Trinity’s golf team, bringing her talent and determination to the NCAA Division III level. ![](https://blog.lgagolf.org/hs-fs/hubfs/Imported_Blog_Media/3-1024x1024-1.png?width=1024&height=1024&name=3-1024x1024-1.png) Peyton expressed her gratitude for the scholarship, stating, “This scholarship alleviates some of the financial burden, allowing me to focus on my studies and golf. I am deeply grateful for the support of female golfers and appreciate the LGA’s consideration of my application.” The LGA Batti Scholarship was established to assist young female golfers from Louisiana with the objective of helping in their higher education. The goal is to provide a one-time $1,500 grant to a young female golfer to help with college expenses. **About the LGA** The Louisiana Golf Association (LGA) is a mission-driven organization dedicated to unifying the golf community across Louisiana.
