Boatwright interns. Ryan’s top priority will be championship operations for the LGA and the Louisiana Junior Golf Tour (LJGT). Fulton will also be involved in all aspects of golf administration, including Golf Genius tournament software, member services, and social media for the 2023 LJGT and LGA seasons.  Ryan was born and raised in Round Rock, Texas, but he has lived most of life in Crowley, Louisiana. He currently attends the University of New Orleans (UNO) and plays on the golf team. Ryan is not quite certain what the future holds for him in the golf world, but he hopes to be able to one day be one of the lucky stars on TV that play on the PGA Tour. Even if playing professionally does not work out for Ryan, he knows that he is going to be involved with golf in some form or fashion because he simply has a great passion for the game.  Ryan has spent most of his life on the playing and competing side of golf tournaments, but now he is going to see a new perspective as he immerses himself in the golf administration side of golf tournaments through his internship with the LGA.  *“I’m not only excited for the opportunity the LGA is offering me this summer, but I am also excited to gather work experience in the golf world and see what the other side of my lifestyle looks like. I am looking forward to a new perspective of golf tournaments, and I hope we can all make the best possible impact.”, said USGA P.J. Boatwright Intern Ryan Fulton.* Ryan’s internship begins May 30th and concludes in late August. *“We are excited to have Ryan join the LGA team this summer,” said LGA Executive Director Logan Ray. “We’ve gotten to know Ryan since he was a junior golfer playing in our events, and we are looking forward to showing him the administrative side of tournament golf and the LGA operations. He will be a tremendous asset for us this championship season.”* In 1991, the USGA established the P.J. Boatwright Jr. Internship Program. This program is designed to give experience to individuals who are interested in pursuing a career in golf administration, while assisting Allied Golf Associations in the promotion of amateur golf, on a short-term, entry level basis. The Boatwright Internship Program has been especially critical for the Louisiana Golf Association. All current LGA staff members are former Boatwright interns, and they understand how valuable the program is to the betterment of the game. Each internship is different, since the needs vary from association to association. An intern may help conduct tournaments, junior golf programs, membership services, and other general activities that promote the best interests of golf. The common thread, which runs through the internship, is exposure to tournament preparations, tournament administration and post tournament business. The nature of tournament administration will test one’s patience, initiative and decision-making abilities, as well as one’s ability to endure long hours and hard work. --- #### Tag: [News](https://blog.lgagolf.org/tag/news) #### Share: - [Follow us on Facebook](http://www.facebook.com/share.php?u=https://blog.lgagolf.org/ryan-fulton-to-serve-as-lgas-2023-boatwright-intern-operations) - [Follow us on Twitter](https://twitter.com/intent/tweet?url=https://blog.lgagolf.org/ryan-fulton-to-serve-as-lgas-2023-boatwright-intern-operations&text=Ryan%20Fulton%20to%20Serve%20as%20LGA’s%202023%20Boatwright%20Intern%20–%20Operations) - [Follow us on Linkedin](http://www.linkedin.com/shareArticle?mini=true&url=https://blog.lgagolf.org/ryan-fulton-to-serve-as-lgas-2023-boatwright-intern-operations) - [Follow us on Pinterest](http://pinterest.com/pin/create/button/?url=https://blog.lgagolf.org/ryan-fulton-to-serve-as-lgas-2023-boatwright-intern-operations&text=Ryan%20Fulton%20to%20Serve%20as%20LGA’s%202023%20Boatwright%20Intern%20–%20Operationsdescription=Lafayette,%20Louisiana%20–%20May%2030,%202023&media=https://23548262.fs1.hubspotusercontent-na1.net/hubfs/23548262/Imported_Blog_Media/IMG_0448.jpg) --- #### [2023 P.J.
