We are incredibly thankful to the USGA for creating the State Team program and providing junior golfers across the country with another meaningful opportunity to not only compete and practice at a high level, but also represent their state. We are proud of the players who have earned the opportunity to wear the Team Louisiana logo, and we look forward to watching them represent Louisiana with pride, sportsmanship, and excellence. This is the beginning of what we hope will become a special tradition for junior golf in our state and the rest of the country.”* **— Jake Norris, LGA Director of Junior Golf & Team Louisiana Captain** The roster was selected by the Team Louisiana Selection committee based on players’ performances throughout the 2026 season. The Team Louisiana Selection committee includes representatives from the ***USGA Executive Committee***, ***Louisiana Golf Association,*** ***Louisiana Junior Golf Tour,*** and ***Gulf States PGA.*** Team Louisiana is one of 30 states in the USNDP’s State Junior Team program – designed to expand, strengthen and diversify the American junior golf pipeline. The USGA announced 14 new states to the program in October of 2025, with goals to expand to all 50 states by 2029. **2026 Team Louisiana – Boys Roster** **Cooper Adams – *Houma (2028)*** **Brooks Blanchard – Metairie (2028)** **Hudson Greene – *Bossier City (2028)*** **Parker Greene – *Mandeville (2028)*** **Ivan Popp – *Lafayette (2028)***   **2026 Team Louisiana – Girls Roster** **Evelynn Artieta – *Denham Springs (2027)*** **Grace Goodwin – *Bossier City (2027)*** **Jade Neves – *New Orleans (2028)*** **Isabella Reeves – *Zachary (2030)*** **Maci Williams – *Brusly (2028)*** The Captain for Team Louisiana is ***LGA Director of Junior Golf, Jake Norris*** and the coach for Team Louisiana is former national championship winningLSU Men’s Golf Coach, ***Chuck Winstead***. *“Congratulations to all of those that have earned the right to be named to the inaugural Team Louisiana. These players earning the right to represent our home is quite the accomplishment. I look forward to getting to know the 2027 edition of Team Louisiana and hope to be an asset in their development in this great game. Let’s Geaux!”* ***– Team Louisiana Coach, Chuck Winstead*** All athletes named to a state team will receive at least two days of in-person athlete development per year, access to webinars led by the USNDP’s coaching and athlete development team, consideration for USNDP sponsored tournament exemptions and a streamlined grant application process for families demonstrating financial need, among other benefits. Announced in 2023, the USNDP is designed to ensure that American golf is the global leader in the game by focusing on six key pillars: talent identification, access to competition, national teams, athlete resources, player development and relations, and financial support. The State Junior Team Program focuses on creating a developmentally appropriate, aspirational pathway for athletes within each state to compete at higher levels of the game. The U.S. National Development Program is supported by philanthropic giving and secured resources to fulfill the USGA’s commitment to providing pathways to elite levels of the game, regardless of financial situations. To be eligible, a player must be a U.S. citizen, cannot be enrolled in college, must be 13 years old by Jan. 1 and not reach his/her 19th birthday by July 19 of the year in which they would compete on a State Junior Team. **About the Louisiana Golf Association** The Louisiana Golf Association (LGA) was established in 1920 with the inaugural Louisiana State Amateur Championship at Shreveport Country Club. Initially focused on this championship, the LGA expanded its scope in 1958 with the introduction of the Junior Amateur Championship, showcasing talents like Hal Sutton and David Toms. As golf gained popularity, the LGA evolved, adding five more championships within eight years. In 1994, a pivotal decision led to hiring the first full-time staff member, transitioning into a comprehensive state golf association. Located in Lafayette, the LGA centralized operations, enhancing services like Championship Administration, USGA Handicap System oversight, and Rules of Golf authority. In 1998, the LGA Handicap Network began for statewide consistency and fair handicapping. This initiative led to events like the Net Amateur Championship and Net Club Team Championship, broadening participation. Subsequent expansions in staff and programs, including partnerships with the Audubon Golf Trail and Gulf States PGA, furthered the LGA’s reach and impact.
