40 players competed in round one of the 2025 Junior River Cup. Tee times began at 7:30 AM off the 1st tee. The final group finished early at 1:30 PM.
Houma, LA – Team Louisiana captured the 2025 Junior River Cup title on Sunday at Ellendale Country Club, defeating Team Mississippi by a final score of 24–15.
Louisiana carried a 12.5–7.5 lead into Sunday’s Singles Matches and continued their strong play to secure the Cup. The final day saw Louisiana win 11 matches and halve one, while Mississippi claimed seven points, including the last match of the day.
In the Girls Division, Louisiana earned key wins from Evelynn Artieta (2 & 1), Maci Williams (1 up), and Grace Goodwin (2 & 1), while Morgan Goudeau halved her match with Mississippi’s Blake Bayliss. In the Boys 10–11 Division, Louisiana’s dominance continued as Owen Lejeune (7 & 6), Derby Everson (3 & 2), Eli Knighton (2 & 1), and Grey Ramsey (1 up) all came away with victories. The Boys 12–13 Division followed suit with points from Parker Greene (3 & 1), Ivan Popp (4 & 2), Augustin Gros (5 & 4), and Wayne Kabrich (1 up). In the Boys 14–15 Division, Maddox Mowad (2 & 1), Riggs Ryan (5 & 4), and Drew Prieto (5 & 3) added to Louisiana’s total, while Mississippi earned the final point with a win over Louisiana’s Justin Lotz. In the Boys 16–18 Division, Mississippi found success with wins from Charlie Magee (7 & 6), Sanders Harwell (9 & 7), Foster Penn (5 & 4), Addison Hammett (1 up), Neil Langford (1 up), Christian Smelley (1 up), and Jack Morris (2 & 1).
With the win, Louisiana secured another Junior River Cup title, finishing the weekend with consistent performances across all divisions and strong play in Sunday’s singles matches.
