Three-Way Battle at Bayou DeSiard: Ledet, Allen & Berthelot Lead After Round One of the 33rd Louisiana Mid-Amateu

A look into the first round of the 33rd Louisiana Mid-Amateur Championship held at Bayou DeSiard  in Monroe, Louisiana on Friday, August 8, 2025.

Monroe, LA - The 33rd Louisiana Mid-Amateur Championship teed off with a tight race at the top, as three players share the lead after Round One at Bayou DeSiard Country Club in Monroe. Lafayette’s Tyler Ledet posted a flawless 3-under-par 69, carding three birdies and no bogeys. Baton Rouge’s Lawrence Allen joined him at the top with a round featuring six birdies offset by three bogeys, while fellow Baton Rouge native Greg Berthelot matched the score with six birdies and a single double bogey. With par set at 72, all three leaders sit at 3-under heading into Saturday’s second round in a tightly packed leaderboard.

A three-way tie for fourth at 2-under (70) features Joe Gerrity of New Orleans, who tallied five birdies and three bogeys; Todd Doss of Mandeville, with three birdies and one bogey; and Hunter Battles of Ruston, matching Gerrity’s card with five birdies and three bogeys.

With 36 holes remaining and a stacked leaderboard, the stage is set for an exciting weekend in Monroe. The low 60's scores and ties will make the cut following Saturdays play. Every shot will count as players aim to separate themselves and claim the prestigious Louisiana Mid-Amateur title.

The 33rd Louisiana Mid-Amateur Championship is conducted by the Louisiana Golf Association and hosted at Bayou Desiard -  a venue known for its championship-caliber layout and southern beauty in Monroe.
