Monroe, LA – Tyler Ledet of Lafayette, Louisiana, carded a 4-under-par 68 on Monday at Bayou DeSiard Country Club to earn medalist honors at U.S. Mid-Amateur Qualifier. Leading the 44-player field, Ledet secured one of three qualifying spots along with two alternate positions advancing to 2025 U.S. Mid-Amateur Championship at Troon Country Club in Scottsdale, Arizona on September 13-18.
Ledet’s round featured five birdies against a single bogey, with notable highlights on both nines. He opened strong, carding birdies on the par-4 second, par-4 fourth, and par-4 eighth to make the turn at 33.
On the back nine, Ledet recorded birdies on the 14th and 16th holes, with his lone bogey of the round coming at the 18th. He finished the side in 1-under 35 to secure his 4-under-par 68.
The third and final qualifying position was decided in a playoff featuring Josh Fullilove, Josh Humphries, and Sam Braver. The playoff began on the 18th hole and continued to the ninth, where Fullilove ultimately prevailed to secure the spot in Final Qualifying.
The second-lowest score of the day belonged to Will Osborne of Fort Worth, Texas, who posted a 2-under 70. Osborne tallied four birdies against two bogeys, highlighted by a stretch of three consecutive birdies on holes 1, 2, and 3.
Claiming the third qualifying position was Josh Fullilove, who finished at 1-under-par. His round included four birdies, one bogey, and one double bogey.
