LAKE CHARLES, LA — The second round of the 34th Louisiana Mid-Amateur at Graywood Golf and Racquet Club in Lake Charles concluded today with defending champion John Humphries in the lead.
Humphries continued his impressive run at the championship on Saturday, finishing 3 under par (69) totaling an impressive 10 under par through 36 holes.
Shane Fontenot and Greg Berthelot are entering Sunday T2 from the leader (-8).
Saturday's round was once again affected by weather, with a lightening delay around noon temporarily halting play. The second wave resumed competition once play was cleared to continue, allowing the field to complete the second round.
Following 36 holes of competition, the field was cut down to 60 players for tomorrow's final round. Billy Gabbert is the eldest player in the competition to make it to Sunday. The cut fell at +7, with those players advancing to compete for the championship title tomorrow.
The final round of the 34th Louisiana Mid-Amateur Championship will begin Sunday at 7:00 a.m. at Graywood Golf & Racquet Club. Following the completion of the final round, the Louisiana Golf Association will crown the 2026 Louisiana Mid-Amateur Champion!
