Metairie, Louisiana – June 6, 2026

It was an action-packed ‘Moving Day’ at the Seth Raynor-designed Metairie Country Club. Grady Brame, Jr. of Baton Rouge vaulted to the top of the leaderboard after firing a new course record eight-under-par 62 on Saturday. Brame is currently seven-under par for the championship and holds a three-shot lead over 36-hole leader Carter Schmitt (69-68-69) and defending champion Connor Cassano (74-65-67). Brame’s incredible 62 featured nine birdies and only one bogey at the par 3 3rd hole. He shot 31 on both the first and second nine holes. Brame is looking to win his third Louisiana Amateur Championship, having won in 2014 at Le Triomphe Golf & Country Club and in 2015 at Bayou DeSiard Country Club. He and his partner Lawrence Allan won the U.S. Amateur Four-Ball Championship at Desert Mountain Club in Scottsdale, Arizona two weeks ago, and Brame's stellar play has continued back home in Louisiana.

Seven players are under par for the championship. Others not mentioned above in red figures are:

T4.) Price Butcher of New Orleans (70-71-67, 208) and 2011, 2022, and 2024 Champion Greg Berthelot of Baton Rouge (73-67-68, 208), T6.) Andrew Barreca of New Orleans (71-72-66, 209) and Lawrence Allan of Baton Rouge (71-69-69, 209).

Andrew Noto of Metairie shot a bogey-free 65, including an eagle on 14.

Metairie Country Club played to a par 70 at approximately 6,732 yards on Saturday. Director of Agronomy Drew Street and his crew have the course in superb condition, and it drew rave reviews from this field of the best amateur golfers in Louisiana. The par 3 3rd hole “Biarritz” played 269 yards on Saturday and was ranked as the most difficult with a scoring average of 3.70. It yielded one birdie all day to Nick Wall of Baton Rouge, and it was the only hole that Brame bogeyed.

Final Round Starting Times will begin at 7:30 a.m., off the first tee on Sunday, with the leaders going off last at 10:30 AM.
