Lafayette, LA - The Louisiana Golf Association (LGA) is proud to welcome Laura D’Amico as a 2025 P.J. Boatwright Intern. Laura will assist the LGA staff in a variety of roles and gain valuable experience in golf administration through this USGA-funded internship. Laura will primarily serve as the LGA’s communications intern, but she will also contribute to the operations side of the business, ensuring a well-rounded experience with all facets of golf administration.
A native of Lafayette, Louisiana, Laura studied communications at both Louisiana State University and the University of Louisiana. Her background includes work in hospitality and sports, having served members at Oakbourne Country Club and volunteered with the Krewe of Allons NIL collective supporting student-athletes at the University of Louisiana.
A lifelong golfer, Laura brings a deep understanding and passion for the game. She looks forward to combining her communication skills with her love of golf to support the LGA’s mission of growing and enhancing amateur golf in the state.
“I’m incredibly excited for the opportunity to work with the LGA and learn more about the operations that help make amateur golf so successful in this state,” said D’Amico. “I’m thankful to the USGA and the LGA for this opportunity to grow both personally and professionally.”
D’Amico will contribute to tournament operations, digital content, and player services. “Laura’s experience and enthusiasm for the game make her a valuable addition to the LGA team,” said LGA Executive Director Logan Ray.
