Kenner, LA - The 39th of the Louisiana Senior Four-Ball Championship concluded today at Chateau Golf and Country Club in Kenner, Louisiana with impressive first round scores. 91 players competed on the field, with tee times beginning at 8am at the 1st and 10th tees. The field took advantage, going low in the Overall and Super Senior Divisions.
In the Overall Division (Ages 50+), Robert Garner from Covington and Todd Doss from Mandeville posted a 6-under-par 66 to set the pace. Making 6 birdies combined. Coming up in second, Todd McPhearson and Bart Dornier, both from Metairie, fired a 5-under-par 67, making 5 birdies for the round. We have three pairs tied for third with 3-under-par 69.
In the Super Senior Division, (Ages 65+), Hal Wright from Shreveport and Wade Botts from Marksville posted an impressive 63 to grab the outright lead. The pair made 8 birdies together and Botts came in with an eagle on 5. Behind them, Bill Land from Lafayette and Randy Goff from St. Francisville shot a 3-under-par 69 for the round. In third, John Hernandez from St. Amant and Pat Lambert from Gonzales posted a 71.
With another great day ahead of us at Chateau Golf and Country Club, our top senior players will compete for the title at 8am tomorrow morning.
